Are you feeling overwhelmed? Are you having difficulty coping with anxiety or depression? Are you stuck in unhealthy relationships or patterns of behavior? Therapy can help you first identify, and then create the kinds of lasting, positive changes you desire in your life and your relationships.
I believe that a collaborative relationship between client and therapist lies at the core of effective treatment. I work from the assumption that you, the client, are the expert on your life. With that as our starting point, it is my job as the therapist to help you first identify, and then create the kinds of lasting, positive change you desire in your life and relationships.
I provide services to clients with a wide range of backgrounds, beliefs, and treatment issues. I often draw upon empirically based treatment modalities, such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I am licensed in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board (license number C004409), and in the State of Utah by the Utah Division of Occupation and Professional Licensing (license number 11015346-3501).

I offer sex-positive counseling for a wide range of sexual difficulties, including sex addiction. If you are struggling with problem sexual behavior that interferes with your work, your relationships, or your physical or mental health, I invite you to take the quick online Sex Addiction Screening Test by clicking here. If you can do so confidentially, please print your results and bring them with you to your appointment.
Is driving to a therapist's office inconvenient for you? Do you travel frequently for work? Not a problem! So long as you have a high-speed internet connection, appointments with an experienced therapist are just a few clicks away. I'm able to provide psychotherapy to clients who reside anywhere in the states of North Carolina or Utah via a HIPPA compliant videoconferencing platform. It is similar to Skype, but keeps your protected health information private. Current research supports therapy via videoconference as a good alternative to in-person therapy for many clients.
Insurance and fees
I am an in-network provider with Aetna.
I am an in-network provider with BCBS of NC PPO and Indemnity plans. If you have Federal BCBS, or a BCBS plan from another state, I am an in-networking provider for your plan.
I am not in-network for the following BCBS of NC Plans: HMO, Blue Value POS, Blue Local with Carolinas HealthCare System, Blue Local with Duke Medicine and WakeMed, All Other POS, Medicare Advantage
If you have out-of-network benefits with a different insurance company, I may be able to provide curtesy filing, depending on that insurance company's system for electronic filing .
Your initial session will be an opportunity for me to gather more information about what is going on, and for you to get a sense of how I might be of help. In addition to gathering history, I'll share specific ideas for how I believe we can work together to address your concerns. The fee for your initial session is $150, and it usually lasts 50-60 minutes. The fee for the initial session is the same for individuals and couples. If I am providing individual therapy for an adolescent, the initial session may be with the parent(s) or caregiver(s), rather than the primary client.
After your initial visit, individual therapy sessions are $120 per session.
After the initial visit, couples therapy sessions are $135 per session. Please note that as part of the evaluation process, it is often helpful for me to have one individual session with each partner after the initial visit, but prior to our first couples session.
I accept payment for services by cash, credit card, Venmo, or check, and collect payment at the end of each session. There is a $3.00 processing fee for all credit card transactions.
Missed Sessions and Late Cancellations
I charge the full session fee if an appointment is missed or cancelled less than 24 hours from the start time of the session. Missed Session or Late Cancel Fees may only be waved in the case of an emergency.
